Matthew 14
Matthew 14:28-33 And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." 29 He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me." 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
Today I had the privilege of meeting with a good friend and colleague. I was sharing my joys and concerns, my growths and my frustration…and this friend called me out on a few things. (We all need a good friend who can call us out!) My friend challenged me to go even deeper in my relationship with God, even deeper in letting go, even deeper in craziness with Jesus. I felt like complaining, “but I’ve come so far…even in the last few months.” But I didn’t. I know my friend spoke the truth.
God is calling us to dive even deeper. We’ve been Cohorts in Craziness since the end of April, but we need to get crazier. We need to lose self even more. We need to care less about what one another thinks and more about what God thinks. We need to seek Him more. We need to praise Him more. We just need more of Him and less of us.
What is keeping you from total abandonment? Are you fearful of what He might require? What others might think? The unknown? Pray for God to open your eyes to any obstacles between you and being a “complete nut” for Him. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss out on anything God has…I want to walk on water! I want you to walk on water with me!
Let’s get crazy!
I’m praying for you!
