Deuteronomy 31
Deuteronomy 31:1-6 So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel. 2 And he said to them, "I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.' 3 The LORD your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the LORD has spoken. 4 And the LORD will do to them as he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them. 5 And the LORD will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to the whole commandment that I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
The other day I was helping a friend at work plan for an event. I love to plan! I love to think about possible challenges we might face and how to overcome those issues before they even happen. I enjoy thinking quick on my feet when something comes up we hadn’t foreseen. Sometimes though, even the best laid plans aren’t successful; an outside event is ruined because of rain, all that hard work and no one shows up, someone you depend on doesn’t complete their part.
We can rest assured thought that God is also a planner. Time and time again in Scripture God reveals there is no need to worry or fret because He already has the next steps planned out. Moses’ time was coming to an end, God had already appointed and trained up the next generation of leadership. God had the next tasks already planned out and promised to go before the Israelites to get things started. The Israelites had nothing to worry during this time of transition. Nothing was going to fall through the cracks because God was in control.
God is still in control. He still goes before us and prepares the way. He still goes with us every step of the way. He will still not leave us or forsake us. He still has a plan and He is working it out. Be encouraged! God’s got your back and He already knows how He is going to work it out. We just have to trust in Him and follow His lead. Where is He leading you today?
I’m praying for you!
